Busking on
Dunbar High Street

Saturday 27 September 2025, 11am to 5pm

Busking returns to Dunbar High Street, spreading festival vibes across town.

There will be multiple performance locations up and down the street to enjoy, with many pubs and cafes offering on-street seating, as well as numerous public benches.

Would you like to play?

We have multiple hour-long slots available to perform on our busy high street. You can take one or multiple slots, at times that suit you across the busking period.

New performer? We welcome people trying out performing for the first time. It’s a great way to build your experience!

If you’re under 18 though, you’ll need to confirm you’ve got permission from a parent or guardian.

Key things to know:

  • You can perform solo, or as part of a group.

  • You can perform in up to three 1-hour slots with optional breaks between.

  • We welcome all styles of music but we’re looking for performance of musical instruments. Singers with backing tracks will not be prioritised.

  • Amplification is not generally allowed as we don’t want you to drown out other performers on the street. A little support for voice is ok, but levels will be monitored. (If in doubt get in touch with your question).

  • We don’t provide any power points or musical equipment.

  • You are free to invite donations from your audience, or raise money for another charity. If you do well though, we’d appreciate a contribution to our donation bucket as we’re a charity too.

  • You must register with us to perform at one of our designated and branded Dunbar Music Festival busking points which we set out to space performances across the high street.

  • We will confirm your performance time(s) in early September and be on hand on the day to offer any support you need.
