Travel to Dunbar Music Festival 2021

Dunbar is well served by train and bus services. The Railway Station and High Street bus stops are a short walk from the Battery venue. 

The town has a number of car parks available, but parking in the Harbour itself will not be feasible for the duration of the Festival. 

This information is provided as guidance and was accurate at the time of writing. Please check public transport service availability for yourself before booking tickets at our sessions.

Train

To and from Edinburgh in under 30 minutes

The X7 service runs regularly between Edinburgh and Dunbar High Street.

To and from Berwick-on-Tweed in about 80 minutes

The 253 service runs Friday and Saturday only between Berwick Railway Station and Dunbar High Street.

  • There's a bus arriving Dunbar at 1123, 1323 and 1523.
  • The bus back departs Dunbar at 1810 and 1910.

So bus is a viable option to arrive for the Friday session and to arrive and depart for the Saturday afternoon session.

Driving and parking

Dunbar is located on the A1, approximately 30 miles south of Edinburgh and 30 miles north of Berwick on Tweed.

Dunbar has several car parks dotted around the town, but parking in the Harbour itself will not be feasible for the duration of the Festival. 

The Festival Committee recommends use of public transport wherever feasible.

The bus stop on the High Street is less than 10 minutes away on foot.
