(This information was emailed on 30 August 2021 to everyone who bought tickets)

We’re so excited that you’ve got tickets to join us at the Dunbar Harbour Battery for The Dunbar Music Festival 2021.

This is everything you need to know in advance.

Please share this with everyone you’ve bought tickets for

The Battery is about 10 minutes’ walk from Dunbar Railway Station and High Street bus stops.

More travel info including train times and map

Doors open an hour before the show starts.

We encourage you to get here in good time to get through ticket check and buy drinks before taking your seats.

You’ll need to show your ticket to get entry. This is the email purchase receipt you received. You can show it on your phone or bring a print out. We’ll check it against our records.

If you bought tickets for friends, if at all possible, make sure that you arrive together.

Covid safety

We all want to stay safe and healthy. It is important that you do not attend if you or anyone in your household have symptoms of Covid-19, have been told to self-isolate or have received a positive test within the last 10 days.

For everyone’s safety we would appreciate you undertake a lateral flow device test 48 hours before you attend.

Find out how to order a test to be delivered to your home

We’re operating track and trace so please be ready to provide details via the Scottish Government service on your phone.

We ask you to wear a mask while moving around the site as you would at a pub or cafe. As Scottish Government guidance has updated since 9 August, this won't be enforced, but doing so will help everyone feel more comfortable to enjoy themselves.

We’re operating a bar kindly supplied by our sponsor Belhaven Brewery.

As such, you can’t bring your own drinks onto the site. We reserve the right to check bags at ticket check, and refuse entry to anyone bringing drinks onto the site.

The Belhaven can and bottle bar will offer:

  • Belhaven Best, Belhaven Black and Belhaven Pilsner
  • Red and white wine, and prosecco
  • A range of soft drinks

There are no food vendors on site. If you wish to bring food, you are welcome to.

Seating during performances

Your ticket entitles you to a space on a particular row, but not to a specific seat.

Toilets and bar access are available throughout the session, but other than to visit these facilities we require you to use your seat.

Your seats are wooden benches or simple folding seats. If you would be more comfortable with a cushion, please feel free to bring one.

Ready for the weather?

The forecast for the Festival weekend is looking pretty good - low chance of rain and relatively warm.

But we are by the sea and this is Scotland. We can’t be Sunny Dunny all the time.

Bring clothes to keep yourself warm and dry, and sunblock so you’re ready for every eventuality.

The session will be going ahead unless we experience extreme weather, and we’ll let you know in advance if this looks likely. Right now it doesn’t.

Make a day of it

We’ve arranged free gigs across town in some great locations where you can also get a drink and something to eat.

If you fancy extending your festival experience, check out these great free gigs that are happening around your visit to the Battery.

Accessibility support

The Battery is accessible, with wheelchair-friendly ramp access to the top rows.

Accessibility information on the Dunbar Battery website

We have two parking spaces reserved for guests with accessibility needs. If you need to use one of these, let us know.

If our stewards can help you access the site and enjoy the session, let us know in advance what you need:

No dogs are allowed on site, other than those supporting people with special needs.
